12 Twitter & Non-Twitter lessons I want to share with you all
@Everybody,
Today my post is not as educational as the one about TROLLS and the one about INTERNET SOCIALIZING DANGERS. However, even if I'm mostly ranting, I hope you still can extract some sort of lesson from it.
Basically, I decided to post this because a few Twitter members don't agree with my opinions and, as they seem to have nothing better to do with their time, they have spent their day sending me angry Tweets and sending other members DM's telling them that I am a liar.
As I never claimed to be in the know or an insider (and I NEVER will because I'm not) it is technically impossible for me to be lying, since all I share are my opinions, beliefs and theories. In fact, when a thread was started saying that I was an insider, I was the first one to dismiss that comment instead of playing mystery with my new found "insider" status.
All I am is full of common sense and brains & maybe I am full of myself too, but that's all there is to it!
Anyway, for those who enjoy my lessons, today I will share 12 mini-lessons on Twitter and common sense:
1 ) If you don't like somebody's tweets, stop following them. Plain and simple.
2 ) If somebody never claimed to know the truth or be in the know, technically whatever they say is NOT a lie but an opinion.
3 ) People sending DM's to other members saying that another member who is expressing opinions is lying, are wasting your time (see number 2).
4 ) People who claim to know the truth and rant unfounded facts might or might not be lying. IMHO, 99% of the time they are, in fact, lying.
5 ) By definition an opinion can NEVER be a lie.
6 ) OPINION: a belief not based on absolute certainty or positive knowledge but on what seems true, valid, or probable to one's own mind.
7 ) FACT: a thing that has actually happened or that is really true; thing that has been or is.
8 ) LIE: a false statement or action, esp. one made with intent to deceive. Anything that gives or is meant to give a false impression.
9 ) THEORY: a mere conjecture, or guess (popular meaning).
10) If you like somebody's opinions and theorys, follow them. If you don't, don't follow
them.
11) Either way, don't accuse them of lying because it's technically impossible to lie when just expressing opinions and theories.
12) WORD OF ADVICE: Beware of those who claim to know the truth and not of those who are not afraid to express their opinions.
Thank you for reading!

Very well said Annie! I agree with you 100% on all 12 points. People shouldn't stop or be afraid to express their opinion only because they will be labeled as an "Insider" If you like what the persons twits follow if you don't there is always the Unfollow or block button! It's Simple common sense
THANK YOU for sharing your wisdom and common sense! I some day aspire to be like you

I asked a question about twitter once that was not answered. Perhaps you can answer it.
Do followers have to get permission and be confirmed before they can follow you?

GS, if the user has protected his tweets, then you have to get a permission to follow him/her. If not, you can just follow without permission.GirlSaturday wrote:I asked a question about twitter once that was not answered. Perhaps you can answer it.

You have the option to protect your twitter account or not.
If you protect it, when somebody wants to see your tweets you'll receive a request and you'll grant them permission or not.
If you don't protect it, anyone can follow you and see your tweets.
In both scenarios you have the option to block a follower and that person won't be able to see your tweets nor contact you anymore.
If many members block the same person, Twitter may decide to cancel that account.
Hope this helps!

Thank You Annie
Again, very insightful. You truly have a gift for taking information in, analyzing it and seperating fact from fiction.
The voice of reason triumphs again.
I sent you a PM.
