Perspective from Heal The World Foundation

Post by neverlandprincess on Tue Sep 15, 2009 12:53 pm

A while back I found the Heal the World Foundations' website...I say "found" because it was a little bit difficult to find. I wanted to see what they were saying-I had to sign up and be a memeber of the site to find that out and when I post the ONLY interview given with Melissa Johnson u will be able to see why. I will post her first interview and then the follow up she gave on the site on August third. There will possible be no CLUES in this...but it would do well for us to remember the things closest to Michaels' heart and realize that we,as fans/friends, are not the only ones left with a vod and so desperatly needing closure. This woman has an open heart and her and other HTW workers were at the second trial. This organization has been struggling through the years fighting exploitation (and they still are) and struggling with Mr. Jackson in the fight for validation and redemption. They do not know where they are going or what they will do-but a satement Ms. Johnson makes brings it all to the center when she says the foundation belongs to God first.
When I feel as if nothing is ever going to make sense about this and we will never know the truth, and the world will never accept that Michael was good and the truth of those horrible incidents will never be brought to the forefront...when I feel like I must be crazy and every thought in my head is "why" and if he is alive "when"...when I feel like somehow we have all been cheated either way-when I feel like my best childhood memories have been ripped away because I myself never fully enjoyed them unbeknownst to me until now. When I think O my gosh even this organization that has been made fun of and hurt just as much as its founder how can this be? When I start to feel anger and resentment towards the world at large and to the rest of the Jackson family for being so anal and obvious...I have to go back to the center and realize that it is in Gods' hands. It really is -for in God is Truth and truth has to win-maybe we wont see it but it will come out. We may understand only in part but all will be well in the end. I do not post this to get in to any sort of religious argument so please don't reply for that end. I am just sharing how i get through the day. I have prayed since the beginning(before I started on the notion that he may still be alive)that the absolute truth will be told, that the truth will come out and that his character would no longer be assaulted. I was not buying the drug rap. Now I am between MJ is alive and in hiding (why) or MJ was murdered(why). I pray the truth and nothing but the truth will come out and peace in this situation will prevail.

June 27th Statement

(The ONLY news STATEMENT)
QUESTION: Melissa, the media from radio, news, entertainment, magazines are all requesting interviews, asking for information about the charity and Mr. Jackson's good works, why not tell the world about Michael's humanitarian side and get people involved with the charity?
ANSWER: People will learn the truth about Michael's heart and his true character through his 'fruit'...his life will speak louder than I ever could.

As for the charity, my first priority is certainly not the media, but the fans. They are first, that is how Mr. Jackson wanted it and that is how I intend to do things. The fans and members of HTWF will know about HTWF, before the media.

QUESTION: Why didn't HTWF make their work more public?

ANSWER: Because we don't do it for show, we did it because we believed HTWF was the true heart of Mr. Jackson and it's actualization, could actually save millions of lives someday.
The people who run HTWF today, do it because they believed in HTWF and Mr. Jackson's vision, they believe in the initiatives they learned about in 1993, they believed the HTWF plans could transform the planet and produce results that could truly improve the human condition. Not only that, but without Mr. Jackson fully on board, focused and devoted, we could not launch these large-scale initiatives.

QUESTION: Why didn't Mr. Jackson do more with his charity?

ANSWER: Well, because he passed away. When he was alive, Mr. Jackson was simply not allowed to focus on HTWF or any other good thing, he was always busy fighting for his life, getting raped and robbed by every smiling face and I'm not talking about the ones he didn't know. The people he trusted in his inner circle are the ones who let him down the most. We knew HTWF couldn't be his priority for a while, but it was always ours. We believed in the initiatives of HTWF, they embody the beauty and love of Mr. Jackson and his quest to change the character of man and heal an ailing world, something he was never given the respect and peace to do while he was alive.

(I was in the courtroom once when he did this funny face and he was trying to lighten the mood of the courtroom and all the stuffed shirts, during a break and it was such a lovely thing he did that made everyone delighted and the reporters twisted it to make him look like a freak, I was shocked and disgusted.)

QUESTION:
Melissa, was HTWF around during MJ's trial, did they support him then?

ANSWER: Of course, both Mel Wilson and I were in the court room the day Mr. Jackson was acquitted. We had two others with us too and no one knew who we were, we were not there for us. We interviewed many fans and even the media about the charity. That data will be shared later. I did give Tom Mesearau and Susan Yu a big hug at their office and thanked them both.
Tom never really got the recognition he deserved, that man was absolutely amazing in his closing arguments. I've never seen anything like it, God was with him and he was beautiful. He is the only lawyer that I saw working for Jackson that had any real honor in him (and I knew of many) But look, we supported Mr. Jackson, not by attending that final week, but by doing the work of HTWF, every single day, year after painful year, without his direct support or presence for much of that time. His charity is just that amazing and we believed he would overcome it all.

QUESTION: Do you plan to keep HTWF alive in honor of Mr. Jackson's vision to heal the world?

ANSWER: Mr. Jackson's death hit me like a Mack truck and I have been physically nauseous every day since. I am scared for the charity and horrified that the same people that didn't protect Mr. Jackson, will try to exploit or take over his charity for their own gain. Mr. Jackson was the sheep among wolves his entire life and his vision of leaving his children in a world progressing, does not have to die with him. I expect that with all the people who stand to gain from Mr. Jackson's death and estate, there will be many battles and HTWF will be among them. We have been fighting for years to preserve Mr. Jackson's humanitarian legacy and help to actualize this work, we won't give up now that
his body is gone, his spirit will live on forever.

QUESTION: How can I do a fundraiser?

ANSWER: Since Mr. Jackson's death, our lines and emails have been flooded
with people wanting to do fundraisers and they want to do it now! Normally, we would have to do paperwork and screening and govern the operation to some extent, with thousands and soon to be tens of thousands, there's no way to govern that. I will say for now, we don't have the facilities, nor the manpower to process this many people, we are working on solutions, but it takes time.

Email us at: fundraiser@healtheworldfoundation.org.
I am not concerned about the world cheating us, I'm more worried about bad people cheating good people for their own gain, using us. I've not found a solution yet, when I do, I'll let you all know.

QUESTION: Melissa, the fans want to support HTWF, but they have been hurt and burned so many times, having to fight for MJ, only to see him get hurt or exploited.
ANSWER: Of course. Why do you think I'm giving this interview to them first and not the media. Because, I too have watched a great man be cut down and let down, year after year, not only by the media and by greed, but by his own people. I know exactly how the fans feel and I will try to answer their fears as best I can, but I must protect the charity from those that nearly destroyed it before and I need them to realize that Mr. Jackson died because there were not good people protecting him, something is wrong with this and we are not out of the woods yet. I need them to know that I've been fighting for them
and for HTWF for nearly a decade and I need them to be patient as we figure things out. We have to preserve the charity, so that Mr. Jackson's humanitarian
legacy is never jeopardized again.

QUESTION: Melissa, some people are asking about the legitimacy of the charity. Can you supply us with any documents to put our minds at ease.
ANSWER: Sure. I will post them as soon as I can dig them up [they are now posted below].

QUESTION: Ok, so some asked why does the charity not have www.healtheworld.org? instead it has www.healtheworld.us and htwf.org?
ANSWER: Good question, first, because Rabbi Boteach was more concerned about his 'book deals' in 2001, than taking care of the one single initiative he was given by Mr. Jackson at the time.
He was also entrusted with control of the three precious domain names of the charity. www.healtheworld.com, net and org.
He let all three expire and although I tried to save the names, they were squatted and bought by another charity trying to exploit Mr. Jackson's brand.
However, tell the fans that HTWF owns nearly every other HTWF extension there is, nearly two thousand charity names, for all the initiatives that we have been collecting and preserving since 2001.
Names like htwf.org, healtheworldfoundation.org, healtheworld.us etc.
The collection was worth nearly 20 million dollars before Mr. Jackson's death, and if our intentions were to exploit Mr. Jackson, we would have sold the collection long ago, when his own attorneys and inner circle allowed the entire collection to expire and be available to the public for acquisition.
Instead, many of us, took our life savings and put our own money up to recover and preserve the property. It has cost the HTWF volunteers tens of thousands a year to preserve and we have done it with very little help from the Jackson's trusted people, as they are ever changing and unpredictable.

QUESTION: A few fans want to know if they can go spread the word about HTWF and tell the media the things that you have told them personally.
ANSWER: I know its hard to remain silent about something so beautiful, but please don't talk to the media yet. We have not done one single interview or press release and we cannot handle the emails and calls we have now, we need time to find solutions and I fear no matter what, this is going to be very difficult to manage.

QUESTION: Melissa, there have been reports that some fans have committed suicide and others are desperate for understanding, what would you say to them?
ANSWER: I certainly hope not one person has done that. What an even more terrible tragedy that would make Mr. Jackson's death. I would say to them that If they are still here, than they have work to do.
Each of us have such an awesome opportunity to impact the world for good.
"Let good men do their work with the same zeal as bad men do theirs"
Each act matters so much and his fans are especially important right now, they can lead the world in a better and progressive direction.
I'd say that I need you to be strong, that I need you with me to change things, I can't do it alone.

More of the interview...coming as we transcribe it.
update part 2
June 27th 2009
Re: Michael Jackson Passing
To Mr. Jackson's beloved fans and all those who have written,
Please forgive me if my writing is poor, I wont be eloquent, as I've not yet had the opportunity to process this tragedy and I am not myself, nor are we prepared to answer all of you personally yet, so please accept this as a group response, for the time.
This is Melissa Johnson and I am one of many, who have been helping to develop the initiatives of HTWF and doing its work since 1993.
I cry along side the whole world and my heart is broken in two. My prayers go out to the family, his precious children and all those who I know are hurting from the loss of him on Earth.
There is a void in the air we all breath, as it no longer is shared with a man of extraordinary value to the world.
You all knew and loved him most, for his music, but my small part in his life and knowledge of him was not as a pop legend, but a legend for change and a force for good and charity, a side of him, even in his death, is rarely talked about.
His rare love and devotion to the helpless, the down-trodden, the innocent and the world's most needy is why I grieve today. They lost their greatest advocate.
Mr. Jackson was not a perfect man, but I know he strived to become the best version of himself and was surrounded by those that would not let him serve and love the world with the vigor he desired.
Over the years, I fell in love, not with a superstar or a pop icon as the world did, but with a miracle, a masterpeace of 'love and service', that was the blue print for the future of HTWF.

I learned of a work and a plan that I believed Mr. Jackson could actually make happen, saving millions of lives, not merely results for the worlds most needy, but a shift in the way that people treat each other. From indifference to concern, from inaction to action, from selfishness to service.
He was pure in heart and he loved humanity with a passion I had never witnessed in any other human being and likely will never see again. It was not manufactured love, like a politician who puts on a face for people, it was pure, innocent and simple.
He was full of love and he fought the world's dissaproval boldly, to hold on to his child-like qualities and inner beauty.
I believe he WAS a king, but not merely of POP, a king in character, the royal blood of an honorable and God-like man, flowed through his body and he was good at levels most of us could never attain ourselves.
I believed that Mr. Jackson would DO what he said he would do and change peoples minds and their hearts. Then the whole world. Not through music alone, but with a clearly defined plan and devotion to carry it out.
Starting a movement with his fans and eventually a world of well indented people, people who were fed up with the environment they had created for themselves.
He wanted to be remembered as one of the worlds greatest contributors and instruments for good, along side Gandhi and Mother Theresa, Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr.
He just wanted to love us, all of us and in 1992 he founded Heal The World Foundation, then in 1993, the first false allegations hit and year after year, until his death, every time he tried to serve and love us, there was some rapacious person there to slow him, cripple him and destroy any chance for his good works.
How many genuinely abused children were NOT helped in the last decade because Mr. Jackson's name, charity and good work was damaged so severely. Accused of abusing the VERY children he set out to RESCUE and HEAL.
Corey Feldman once said, calling Mr. Jackson a child abuser is like calling Santa clause a thief!
I believe the world will come to know as I have always known, that Mr. Jackson would never hurt any child and did have a propensity to love children especially, but love them as he loved his very own.
How could he not? He said many times, that a child's heart is not judgmental or unkind, its boldly honest and wholesome, not crude and manipulative as he came to experience with adults in his life.
How many Millions of lives would have been saved if we had protected our beloved ambassadors of peace, goodwill and charity. Living Legends for good, like Mr. Jackson and Princess Diana? How much more GOOD could they have done?
The loss of Mr. Jackson is not to Mr. Jackson, he is in Paradise and is ok now, the loss is to humanity, to the most vulnerable and the sick, to the abused children and forgotten child in all of us. We needed him, he didn't need us.
The whole world loses a teacher, a leader and an example of good character and we will never know how much he could have taught us.
Mr. Jackson is gone now and It is unclear if the Jackson Family will want to continue his charity work and his humanitarian legacy and in what manner.
The staff at HTWF only ask that the public be patient with us and allow the family time to grieve as we wait for the direction they would have us go.
HTWF belongs to God first and then to Mr. Jackson, as God's instrument for miracles and good to the world and we must all be respectful and wait for the family to come up for air, before and IF we can move forward on Mr. Jackson's behalf.
Many have asked what we plan to do and I don't know yet, we are left at the mercy of God and the Jackson family have a heavy burden to bare, but I do know personally, I won't let the adversary take me out, before I accomplish the things that God has prepared for me and I leave the world a lot better off, than the way I entered it.
My prayers are with you all and I ask that your prayers be with the family, his precious children and finally myself, that I be given the strength to do right always, in God's purposes and in the magic and glory of HTWF.
As Mr. Jackson loved his fans so deeply, I have seen clearly why, as I cannot express the joy you all have brought to my life. Your beauty, your loyalty, your love for others.
My deep gratitude and love to you all,

Melissa Johnson
President

It will I believe-maybe the time is not right. They are so shell shocked right now and understandably she has nothing to say to the media-I posted it here but on the HTW site is the only place I have seen it and I had to be a member to see it-which is not a huge deal because you dont have to be a paying member.
