Sorry, I'm gonna be the blacksheep of the family here...by not signing it. As much as I appreciate the passion and reasoning behind it, and support the goal of it, I don't believe that signing an online petition to ask the media to stop disrespecting MJ will do any good. It's just not gonna happen. Getting signatures, whether it be 10,000 or 10,000,000, will not make the media do or not do anything. Kudos for the noble effort, but to me, it's just in vain.

we'll never get anything done will we...whether you believe in it or not i still
like to think it's at least the thought that counts and surely it can't take more than
half a minute to do so...

Thanks for that and I will agree-and I have signed it in fact I think I may have done it twiced. I used to be really big with online petitions but they generally get thrown out...but I DID sign it.
