...some info on Sony

I have been interested in knowing about the people at Sony...I found this and thought I would pass it along. i think it is pretty interesting that Clive Davis is now part of Sony (as of April 2008).

Is there something specific you'd like to know?

I would love to know why, if Frank Delio was out of the picture for so long......and then returns as MJs manager, just prior to MJs death, why he was also put on the Board of Directors at Sony. Was this done at the same time as MJ hired him again?
I would also like to know if MJ still owned 50% of Sony Music...or just how all of that worked.
I know Mattolla has been gone from Sony for several years....but I am curious to know what transpired after he left. Were things better for MJ? What kind of relatinships did he have with the CEO, etc.???
Is there a possibilty that MJ OWNS Sony?
I have started to look at Sony a little more carefully....and have all kinds of questions. I do find their new "philosophy" interesting...... MAKE.BELIEVE.

Just some info that might help.

Frank is not on the board of the entire Sony company. He's on the board of Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Sony Music Entertainment, Inc. is a very large company, and Sony/ATV is just one subsidiary of it. Frank is on the board of just Sony/ATV.

MJ owns 50% of the Sony/ATV Music Publishing catalog--again, not 50% of Sony, just Sony/ATV. That catalog is worth a bundle, of course, and it's a huge money-maker for Sony. But it's just one part of the entire Sony company.

We've all heard the speculation that MJ was suspicious, perhaps even fearful of Tohme Tohme, and I think the reason he hired Frank Dileo back. Dileo has a longstanding career in the music industry and a history with MJ. To me, it just makes sense that he was hired back. Seems to me that MJ trusts Dileo, so why not hire him, and who better to help oversee things at Sony/ATV.
