"The Michael Jackson Opus -- AUGMENTED REALITY

I found this on the Today show web site. If you follow this link and look under "The Official Michael Jackson Opus" video, sort of half way down the page on the right-hand side. It's apparently a book w/ tons of pictures about the life of Michael Jackson. The book on the show is a mock-up; it'll be out sometime in December -- it's not fully written yet. The publisher, Carl Fowler, is saying that this book is the ultimate testament to everything about Michael Jackson.

"It's a project Michael had been working on just days before his death." Fowler says Michael looked happy, fine just three days before his death when he saw him.
"The challenge with the book is to tell the story in a way it's never been told before."
THEN Fowler starts talking about this TECHNOLOGY that's never been done in publishing before. He says, "This is the 1st Book, if you will," and he called the technology AUGMENTED REALITY. Opus Augmented Reality.
This technology, he says, links traditional media -- paper, pictures in a book -- w/ 21st century technology.
He then holds a pic of Micheal up to the laptop they have in the studio there, and it's like we're seeing a video of Michael dancing along w/ the audio/audience!
It's amazing........

Wow Michael was a busy boy leading up to June 25th! Makes you wonder how a sickly frail man who couldn't even feed himself had the energy to do such things doesn't it? Razz

wow, totally awesome.
I also think it is great that Michale Jackson's story will be the 1st book ever published with that technology!
MJ's just continues to awe us all.

I wouldn't image Christmas Day because it's a national holiday but maybe in the lead up to Christmas. All recording artists do it now because they know it will be a big seller in time for Christmas. I guess time will tell!

Oh and as much as I love Michael I couldn't justify spending $165 on a book. Sorry!

but that price is really too high for me- maybe i can cry a bit so my parents would buy it for me as Christmas gift....but i do not have a lot hope according to that..haha
