Attorney General Will Do "Independent Investigation" of Michael's Death

The new investigation is at the special request of the incompetent LAPD, and after two whole months, the Attorney General's office is JUST getting started.

CA AG Jerry Brown to Complete "Independent Investigation" Into Jackson Death

State Attorney General Jerry Brown said today that "at the request of the Los Angeles Police Department," his agents will complete an "independent investigation" into the death of Michael Jackson.

We asked Brown's office this morning for an update on his role in the Jackson case. Here's his full statement:

"Responding to a request from the LAPD, agents from my office will investigate several physicians whose names have come up in the course of the Michael Jackson death inquiry," Brown said.

"This investigation is at its earliest stages, and no conclusions can be drawn at this point."

On August 20, 2009, the LAPD met with representatives from the Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (BNE) and the Drug Enforcement Administration to discuss information uncovered during its investigation into the death of Michael Jackson.

In the coming days and weeks, BNE agents will review relevant records and documents. The LAPD is the primary agency responsible for the investigation into the death of Michael Jackson.

The Attorney General's office will continue to assist the LAPD as necessary.

The Attorney General's office maintains a prescription drug monitoring system, known as CURES (Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System). The CURES system is designed to identify and deter drug abuse and diversion through accurate and rapid tracking of controlled substances."

again: why are they more focused on doctors, pharmacy raids and drugs than on arresting the obvious suspect: Murray?

LA coroner has given us a "cause of death" - tox and autopsy delayed indefinitely. LAPD handing over case to attorney general = they're out of the picture.

@ballon - thats a good theory, maybe the LAPD's role is done, now it needs to move higher up because the AG has the CURES tracking system.

Not at all makes perfect sense. They're role is done.
When MJ comes back maybe the LAPD don't want to be part of this...

yeah, and why would the attorney general be needed in this matter? it's obvious to a blind person who the murderer in this case is.
And notice how they dont mention muray or his involvement in this matter in the article? They only talk about interviewing 35 doctors, DEA , drugs and raids.
