An Australian social media company that sells "packs" of Twitter
followers to corporate clients says it has dealt with the family of
Michael Jackson in relation to a media campaign for the deceased pop
star.
uSocial chief executive Leon Hill said in a statement the company
had not dealt with Jackson himself, but had been in contact with an
unnamed family member regarding the purchase of 25,000 followers.
"I can't admit that we dealt with Michael Jackson directly, though
we were in touch with someone in his family recently who tasked us with
conducting a Twitter campaign on an account relating to him," said
uSocial.net CEO Leon Hill. "It was exciting to say the very least to
conduct work with such a big name."
"For obvious reasons we'll be dealing with his family from here on
in, though it would have been great to conduct services for Michael
Jackson in a different time, under different circumstances."

It's very odd, which twitter account is it!

I find that to be very strange. The wording of it especially.

@swan yeah you're right, why not say "we didn't deal with him directly" admit is a strange way of putting it!!!

why mention michaels name at all,as it was purchased in august,IF he were dead,most wouldnt EXPECT them to have dealt with michael,IF he passed june 25 and this was done in august ,that doesnt make any sense to me.

I also have a question: Why does somebody need 25000accounts of "followers"? What is the purpose?

So are you saying that they purchased 25000 "friends" who will then post to that one account? I'm not sure I'm getting this.

What strikes me as realy odd is the manner that Twitter has received such a front and center role wthin the hoax.

Everyone on the planet seems to have created a twitter account not long after June 25th and has been tweeting like mad.

Celebrities such as Liz taylor is reported to have a twitter account. Like Liz, my dad is in his 70's and I cannot get him to turn on a computer let alone set up an account and communicate via something like twitter.

It has gotten a bit confusing on whether the twitter accounts are real, part of the hoax or part of a more elaborate prank.

Does tthis tie in with Rebbie's twitter account? She tweets with MJfans only.

Why would someone in the Jackson family purchase a package of 25,000 twitter accounts for a MJ campaign. That doesn't make sense if he is gone. I am sure the fan base in Australia have no desire to tweet anyone in the Jackson family. This is very odd. Why even associate MJ's name with the account if he's truly gone? Sounds to me like MJ has a desire talk to some fans. Keep the Faith!

I remember when this story came out, not too long after June 25th. But then like most news stories about MJ lately, died a quick death and never resurfaced.

Why would someone buy Twitter accounts? I dont understand twitter myself, so what is the purpose of buying 25,000 accounts?
