The words to me seem to say all MJ wanted to do was get away from all the pressure and lies. I know money was never his motive.
MJ is saying the lies and pressure from the system are too much. Much like he has been saying in many of his later songs. Money was
never his motive for anything. He loved and cared too much for world. But he was tired and when he says:

"Why is it I can't do whatever I want to? (oh)

So don't you try to tell me what is right for me

I believe he has to do it for himself even if it hurt his fans. People say he wouldn't fake his death and do that to his fans. I disagree.
He says right there in his song he has to do it for himelf. And when he says:

"I've got to, find a place,
So I won't hide away"

Isn't he talking about a place that is permanent so he won't hide behind a mask or disguise? A place meaning where people wouldn't look because MJ doesn't exist
anymore, so of course no one would look. He would be free to be really free. All the involvement of the LAPD, courts, DEA, and FBI is
a huge undertaking and is very serious. If MJ did fake his death, he had to have their cooperation for a really good reason. I think there
is some really bad stuff going on too and that is why he had and has government and judicial cooperation. But MJ just wants to be free IMO. He tried to fight
the media lies with his lyrics and speeches and famous supporters but the media would not stop. I think the clues we see about the hoax are intentional and accidental. By that I mean I think MJ wants his fans to know he is alive and so he has the Liberian Girl theme for his memorial and burial, he sends
a Murray tape that really is MJ's message. Maybe the Fedora man at the memorial and maybe the Dave Dave, I can't say for sure about the disguises
but I think he wants the fans to know he is alive. However, the publicity hungryJackson family, the slip ups with present tenses, their conflicting
versions of what happened on June 25, even the 911 call. They are really all amateur actors. Only Janet is the pro. And she is pretty quiet. Haven't you ever tried to keep a lie straight and messed up your facts? Even the 911 call to me seemed like a nervous poor actor forgetting his lines. And I don't think MJ was trying to escape someone killing him nor nor was he killed. Because if someone wanted him murdered and he escaped, with all these forums, Youtube videos, the family's mistake, the Liberian Girl, etc., the assasins would know he was alive too and still go after him. They would not be stupid people. And ihe wasn't murdered, because no professional is that sloppy and police would go after his killers and so would his family and Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and all the supports he had. Killers would have just killer MJ with an accidential overdose, produced a real body for all to view, everyone would have cried just as they did now, and he would have been buried with a real funeral. Oh money would still be made but no doubts about his death (unless you have Elvis like conspirators-different than this mystery). I believe MJ is alive and has managed to make sure he is never bothered again by the media. Yes he might miss the stage, but he hated touring
and he has given us 40 years of music, videos galore, and he still has unreleased music to come. Even if he does film, he will do it quietly behind the
scenes where he can enjoy the success. And his children? Oh you can be sure they will be with him. They were his greatest love and joy. Please don't be mad, I want him but his words tell me he needs his peace more and isn't that what sacrificial love is?

I agree it could be a clue, but I doubt it too. Only because the song was written a long time and the lyrics are rather.. like.. common? i guess is the word. I know a lot of artists who write about escaping etc
