MJ Fans!!!
I just got this from a friend on youtube & this was quite a surprise but here's the info that I received:
MTV SHOULD BE STOPPED.
STOP MTV FROM TAKING THE KING OF POP TITLE FROM MICHAEL JACKSON. Please stop MTV from disrespecting Michael. Because of Michael MTV is where it is now. Because of Michael and his REVOLUTIONARY MUSIC and VIDEOS, MTV became famous everywhere. And instead of being FAIR AND GRATEFUL to Michael they want to take away the title of KING OF POP and give it to Robbie Williams.
Now Robbie is a great singer but he is nowhere near Michael.

So please SIGN THE PETITION TO STOP MTV FROM TAKING THE KING OF POP TITLE from Michael. We need 1000 signatures fast. Spread the WORD and the LINK to your friends too and tell them to do the same. The link is:

Michael Jackson The King of Pop is dead and buried IMO. When he comes back, I don't think he will still be the performer MJ, but a director, songwriter or whatever. So they might as well pass on the title to someone who needs it. I myself like Robbie Williams and if I have to choose between him and Kanye West, please let it be Robbie.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. For one big reason: No one has replaced Elvis as the KING OF ROCK AND ROLL in over 30 years! MJ has only been gone 5 months! No, King of Pop remains with MJ IMO!

It is done along with a nice little message letting them know how insulting it is that they would even consider doing such. NOONE will ever come even remotely close to Micheal's talents and/or achievements.

yes agree with you also @MJThrillsme, but maybe MJ himself wanted to be free from this title!! so he disided to pass it on to someone else? just a thought...

I like Robbie Williams, but NO WAY that he can carry the name King Of Pop.

It belongs to Michael, so it has to stay with Michael. Whether he's alive or not, comes back or not.

A title is naturally bestowed upon someone because of an overwhelming adulation/admiration/regard from people. MJ's title as King of Pop came about most naturally because of his unsurpassed greatness as a performing artist. He is a worldwide phenomenon. People around the world know MJ as THE King of Pop and no one else. Even if MTV gives the title to Robbie Williams, it's going to sound "unnatural, forced, and maybe even awkward.." and not to mention the fact that Robbie is not even popular in many countries (sorry to say that..)...

Sure Michael wanted to move on to films, but that does not mean he has to disregard his music side of his career. From his interview with Oprah, he does not appear to dislike his title either as I have watched the interview again. I think more or less it is up to his fans as a whole--as he said, it was not he, but Elizabeth Taylor who called him the King Of Pop and the fans followed. On another note, if someone in the music industry dared to replace Elvis as King of Rock and Roll with someone else, do you think his fans would stand for it??? No, I don't think so. Michael IMO has earned his title far more so than Elvis, therefore I think not unless we as his fans decide as a whole otherwise, then he should remain as KING OF POP! As a refresher to what Michael's thoughts are as for being called the King of Pop, I suggest watching Oprah's interview again. His comments on that very subject are at 30:00.

MTV is horrible.. all of the 'music' channels are nothing but reality tv famewhores. they don't even play REAL music anymore. When was the last time anyone actually saw music and not some rich girls parading around like they matter?

Ok. sry for that rant--- however, I like a lot of music, but I can't even name one Robbie williams song. The King of Pop was given by fans and that's the only way it should stay.

Haha. Like MTV has some autority in things like this. MTV has been crap for more then 10 years now. They can give the title to the smurfs for all I care ..nobody is going to take their crowning seriously. The King of Pop (and to me he had much more of a impact then Elvis ever had ..the prejudice against Michael made it so that people never fully accepted it ) ..will always be Michael Jackson. How disrespectful by the way to do this 5 months after his death...again the disgusting way the media treated Michael..No respect at all. MTV should crawl on their knees for the popularity Michael brought them because I remember in the 80's the only reason my dad went to search for MTV on the tv was because we wanted to see Thriller! It put MTV on the map. This is the thanks Michael gets? Well karma has been paying a visit to MTV for a long time now so I guess it is just a matter of time until we can finally kick it to the curb.
