Michael Jackson was "cracking up" and "not mentally or physically equipped to cope"...
* A lot, or most of this article that I found seems sensationalized, but there were a couple of things that stood out to me in it, and I highlighted them in red. Is it possible that Michael wasn't up to or able to do the 50 concerts, and that he faked his death because of the fear that someone would kill him if he backed out? Is it possible that what his psychiatrist thought was an irrational fear or paranoia could have actually been real? Could it be possible that Michae could be in witness protection, or received some sort of threats, either directly, or indirectly?
Michael Jackson was 'cracking up'
Michael Jackson was “cracking up” and “not mentally or physically equipped to cope” with the pressure of his proposed 50 London shows, according to a psychiatrist.
5 August 2009
Michael Jackson was “cracking up” under the pressure of his 50 London shows, according to a psychiatrist.
The unnamed analyst claims the late pop icon was increasingly erratic ahead of the proposed dates, which were due to start in July and run into 2010, with him veering between “almost manic” excitement before lapsing into silence and staring into space.
According to a source, the psychiatrist – who met with Jackson twice, the second time on June 12, just weeks before his death - said the singer was “clearly not mentally or physically equipped to cope” with the planned comeback.
The source added to Britain’s The Sun newspaper: "Michael was always adamant the show must go on - to the point where he was obsessed with the idea he would be 'killed' if he couldn't go on stage.
"He had been backed into a corner and was falling apart under the strain."
The psychiatrist had told the ‘Bad’ hitmaker’s other doctors, including skin specialist Arnold Klein, he had a “deep concern” for Jackson, who was also obsessed with his skin condition vitiligo.
Jackson’s fragile mental state was also manifesting itself in “punishing and controlling behaviour” and a desire to sabotage aspects of his professional life.
The source added: “Michael had been candid at their first meeting, but showed clear signs of cracking up when he saw him again.”
Meanwhile, footage of Jackson’s final rehearsal concert is being tipped to win an Oscar.
The recordings of the singer’s final rehearsals are to be released with an accompanying feature length documentary, and are said to include his last ever Moonwalk – his trademark dance move - as well as three new music videos and an enhanced version of his biggest hit ‘Thriller’.
Those who have seen a sneak preview of the material are confident it could earn Michael a posthumous Academy Award.

Ditto. As soon as I see something is from The Sun, my brain stops computing and shuts down. Total rubbish -- among the scummiest of the tabloid scum.

I know what you mean...but a lot of news has been coming out through tabloids. And, I don't think the article, itself, is true...but to the extent it says (violates client confidentiality, and that's a means for the psychiatrist to lose his license)...but those two lines made me wonder a little.

Re: Michael Jackson was "cracking up" and "not mentally or physically equipped to cope"...
I'm not saying the Michael was crazy...just because a person sees a psychiatrist or psychologist doesn't mean that they're crazy. Sometimes they just want to vent a bit, and if Michael was under enough stress about the concerts, maybe he could have seen someone a couple of times. There's nothing wrong with that. What I'm trying to say is to forget about just about the whole article, but look at those two lines in particular. Sometimes it could be possible that just one or two lines of something can have "some" truth in an article, and the rest be completely sensationalized. I think we all know that Michael wasn't "crazy".

I keep looking back over the article, and I can't find anywhere that says the source was The Sun. Instead, it's NZ City, which would be New Zealand. The Sun isn't even mentioned in the article, as far as I could see. Am I missing something?
