Ticket presales of Michael Jackson's upcoming concert documentary This Is It
sold out in two hours over the weekend, allowing fans to soon catch a
glimpse of what might have been, had the late Michael's London O2 Arena
dates actually taken place. But the film will also offer a glimpse of a
young new talent whose career is just starting to explode: Jackson band
member and guitar prodigy, Orianthi.This 24-year-old Australian
guitar goddess first captured American audiences' attention at this
year's Grammy Awards, when she blazingly accompanied (some might even
say upstaged) Grammy performer Carrie Underwood, and she has also
been quite vocally championed by six-string legends Steve Vai and
Carlos Santana. ("If I was going to pass the baton to somebody, she
would be my first choice," Carlos once said of Orianthi.) It was in
fact Orianthi's buzzy Grammy performance that made the King Of Pop
himself take notice, and he quickly hired her to be his guitarist for
the This Is It concerts. In fact, she was actually supposed
to be the Michael Jackson's official spokesperson during his much-hyped
London residency. Obviously, that sadly never came to pass, and
Orianthi--who was actually with Michael the night before his
death--ended up performing at Michael Jackson's Staples Center memorial
instead. But still she raves: "Working with Michael was a life-changing
experience, one I will never forget."

And now as Orianthi--recently named one of the "12 Greatest Female Electric Guitarists" in Elle magazine--readies her debut solo album Believe and lead single "According To You,"she is all over This Is It, electrifying the screen. Below is the exclusive unveiling of the Believe album's cover art, out October 27. As far as real rock-chick role models go, this is it, people.

Seems like everybody connected with Michael is making a name for themselves.
Wonder if she had planned to have the debut in October. Wouldn't she have been in London had the concerts taken place? How was she planning on promoting this?

Looks familiar to the Criss Angel' poster. Written in the same convention. Interesting hmm..

It actually doesn't seem like she was planning on doing the concerts at all, because in the time the concerts would have been happening she was going to record and doing in store appearances etc

It seems like michael gave alot of people permission to use his hoax to their advantage...i like the song title, he maybe suggested she promotes that first as a clue?

i guess she's reaaally good if michael chose her......speaking about her twitter.....she just wrote really happy u dig it..cant wait to play some shows soon!...i wonder what she's reffering to...

Why is everything in late October? Coincidence? Orianthi's album comes out October 27, and This Is It comes out October 28.
