This Is It is not actually This Is It? It's a song called "I never heard" written by Michael Jackson and Paul Anka in the 90's for Safire..

This is what Kenny Ortega is delivering for Michael in order to get them calm and not start another contract / money fight. This is just to fulfill the contract.

It is old material by nature of the movie.

Michael's project is another one and this one will be the one that will let us search our jaws.

I'm with you on this one Grace! I've been having this feeling for a while. That this is their "piece" of the cake.
And MJ's real project is in the works somewhere backstage

Yes, because the original name of the song is "I never heard"..."This Is It" is just a made up title by Sony & AEG...this is kind of disappointing, huh? I was looking forward to hear some brand new songs...so does it mean there will be no new songs on the cd?

Anyway, I'm glad we got to hear another unreleased song. It sounds amazing.

What?! This Is It was written in 1980? I thought it sounded like his old stuff...how weird and disappointing. I wonder when, or even if, his brothers recorded it with him then?

I just read somewhere yesterday that "This Is It" was actually recorded in 1991. Here is the excerpt and link for the whole story:

"This Is It," which Rolling Stone reports was recorded during the sessions for Jackson's 1991 album Dangerous, will appear on the album in two versions. The collection will end with the recorded version of the song — which plays during the closing sequence of the movie — as well as an orchestral version, both previously unreleased. WANDULKA, thank you for the link. I also searched the same thing in YT.

I guess the feeling inside me that Sony/AEG's intention for all of this is MONEY and they are feeding on the sentiments and love of Michael's fans because the fans will do anything/everything to get hold of anything/everything that has got to do with Michael. Opportunist and leeches/parasites and they actually make me cry.

I have posted before that if they were able to pull off the O2 London Concert by sugar coating it with the memorial and the funeral to make $,ooo much money, I am very disgusted at these people because this supposed to be death of Michael is a very good investment and they should hit everything while it's hottt.

I won't be surprised that the This Is It Movie will be a downer to the fans because it's gonna be the same sugar coating and of course they will think of a sequel to their investment of which they don't have to work hard for(just put in the old works of Michael and label it with a very catchy title)

I hope you are right..but at the moment I'm as disapointed as human_nature.....
I knew there are "unreleased songs"
but I didn't expect such old songs...
although the lycrics are a little bit different.....

I wonder when Michael really recorded This Is It - if the song itself is a remake of a song originally recorded by another artist in the 90's, anything's possible...

This is It song was recorded
During studio sessions for the album Off the Wall.
Which means that the song its new because we never heard about it but its 30 years old.

But he doesn't sound like in 1979 at all. And the song doesn't even fit in the album. "Off The Wall" is a funk, disco, dance record. I would say that "This Is It" is from the Dangerous era. It kind of sounds like a few songs from the 90's.
