Michael Jackson Talked About Vanishing?

Not sure if this was posted already or not, but...

In the beginning of this clip he says

"I would like some kind of way to disappear where people don't see me anymore."


But then soon after the interviewer asks
"You don't want to die young?"
"Um, you -- you're asking me an interesting question. You sure you want my answer?"

Why wasn't this book/tapes released while MJ was alive!!!

I listened to this like two weeks ago... so damn sad.... I want to hug him.

This is why I believe that he will stay "out of sight" -- no comeback. When I heard this on the tapes a couple of weeks ago that cemented it for me.

i wonder if there are more parts then what he says in this book...like more tapes....it's like the Bershir thing, he only showed the parts that would hurt Michael...and then the rest of those interviews came out after, which shows all of what Michael was saying to Bershir....you know what I mean.....people have a way of only showing the bad parts of things, not the good.

I believe he said that he 30 hours on tape. I'm not sure if the book was based on the whole 30 hours or not.

It's sad but i can deal with that.
I mean i can deal with the fact that he is still alive but doesnt coming back to the public, then think about it that he realy it well never can come back anymore(you know whta i mean with that )

He has 3 kids, he just can´t stay hidden. So, we still have hope. ...I hope

He said that in the Schmulley tapes as well. He says also I believe that he would like to disapear and be able to do his thing helping kids. (He wouldnt be harrassed that way,is how I interpret this). HOWEVER! He does have children so I don't think he would vanish ,unless he took them with him.
Another thing that gives me hope is his last interview with Ebony magazine,which happened years after the Schmulley tapes....they ask him if he thinks he will still be performing at 70 and he says "no"...that he just wants to sit back and relax at that point. He says that he wishes James Brown had taken it easy and enjoyed what he had-but instead he worked himself to death at to late of an age.....yeah makes you think.

i don't trust the guy... I think that the only thing behind publishing such PRIVATE things is money. I guess religius people should be much more modest...As for Michael saying things like that? well, nothing unusual. ANybody vulnerable and sensitive enough usually has similar thoughts. this is what trully sensitive people will say, and MJ, no doubt, was senstive...but listening to things like that i guess is just too much for me. I would expect my closest friends to know such things about me, so ...just publishing the tapes is too much, hmm, It's invading somebody's privacy again...IMO

It would be sad, but look at it from his viewpoint. MJ never had any peace and that includes the fans. I'm sure that it is not easy living one's life when everyone wants a piece of you literally and figuratively. I can see why he would want to disappear.

@dunno it-There is no reason to trust him. He screwed MJ over with his role in HTW. He didnt do what he was supposed to and it is said that he was pocketing money. After the publishing of these tapes(that by all that is on them hold no evidence that Michael WANTED tehm published-not buying that one) Rabbis have come out saying that Rabbi shmulley was totally wrong and only focused on himself in doing this.

Yes-he is presnting the whole thing as if he is doing it to show ppl Michael was damged but not a monster-but it looks more like selling someones pain to garner pity. I don't like that-they were supposed to be working on a book about parenting....but he did not have to publish these very painful and personal accounts. No way no how-yeah there is a whole thread about him. I was really glad that another Rabbi came out swinging against him.

I hope that Michael did get to 'dissapear', at least for his own sanity. I do hope that he comes back though.

Maybe I think.....If he really faked his death, I don't think that he'll come back...but otherwise...when I see the interview where Michael says that the wants to do a movie..then I think THIS ALL HERE is part of the movie..IDK... God, I can't wait to see the movie.... to find clues or maybe/ finally the truth

I am not getting my hopes up about clues in the movie-I just think Kenny O is way to bubbly to be able to keep anything like that hidden. I am actualy starting to get scared about the movie-like I don't know how I am gonna react-or afraid maybe it will be the kind of confirmation that I just really don't want.

AH! I have really liked hearing Dileao talk. i think he is a good guy. I know alot of ppl have said Michael was really happy those last few weeks-Janet even said the last time she saw him he was jokin all day and being fun.

I guess since the TII Movie is just around the corner, everything with every people has to be congruent for the justification of events.

There must be a genuine reason for these people, Michael has closely worked with, to just come out for interviews(aside from financial).

I'm just in the mode of 'EXPLANATION PLEASE!' to all of these events and to the hoax or the disappearing act of Michael.

Of course there's no doubt that we would love to hear anything/everything about Michael. They should just spill it out and let whatever is there to say be said, instead of just being a mono-syllabic like answers to interviews.

So sorry for expressing my thoughts this way but I do really need explanations from their side - real deal explanations.

I feel the exact same way. I bought tickets to the screening and part of me is so ecstatic, yet the other part is afraid I'll be upset in some way. I'd be very surprised if there's something in this movie that gives us any clues (as much as well all want there to be).

This is really stretching it, but I remember Kenny Ortega saying how everywhere the film is there are like 3 bodyguards surrounding it - meaning no one can see any of it. Possibly there really is something at the end that everyone will see at the same time?
I don't know, that's just wishful thinking I suppose.

it breaks my heart. it trully does.

but i get some hope from MJ's own words, that he might have been thinking about disappearing from the public eye for quite a long time. maybe 50 was a mark for him you know, just like some ages become 'limits', marks to get something done. dunno if i could express myself well here, because english isn't my 1st language but... well, i do think that what MJ said was related to his thoughts of 'escape'.

I know! Oprah said she sw 12 min with a body guard or something! I read that here and it was the first time I heard it....I was surprised b/c it seems like every week ET is showing new photos and footage. I know...it makes me wonder right? Either way it just has to be awesome for it to be guarded-unless they r only doing it to keep unreleased footage off youtube. Wishful thinking though-I have it too.

Ya I heard it on Oprah too! And in my opinion, when the film has to be guarded in front of Oprah, that's saying something. Ya they've shown some clips too of the movie and I just sort of thought the whole movie would be the same idea, so what's the big deal?
Like you suggested neverlandprincess, either there really IS something that happens near the end of the film, or they're making sure the movie isn't leaked like that Wolverine movie was.

i wanna see TII so badly, am also curious about any hint he might be giving away in the movie... too bad i can't see it this weekend ;____;

I know. I'm seeing TII next week. Probably one of the first showings on the 27th. I'm both excited and nervious about it. Next week is the big week. This Is It!!!!!!

I'm guessing there's going to be a lot of interviews, and old clips, and snippets of other things. Maybe candid moments. Like a movie/documentary. Like the kind Michael liked

You couldn't be more right. Every time I go to a midnight showing there is always at least one person decked out for the occasion. Star Wars and Transformers were the best (they bought mega tron helmets). You've got me all excited!

Me neither!! Everyone I've talked to said they would be beyond happy. Even non-fans have said that would be great. The weird part is that most people I talk to are pretty receptive to the hoax theory. Everyone knows you can't put anything past MJ.

I'm excited to see the movie, especially now that it's so close. I'm not going in looking for clues though....mostly because I don't think there will be any. I just hope it makes me more happy than sad to watch it.

This really says something about our theories... today my friend came over to study for a test with me, and out of nowhere she says to me, "You know what, I don't think Michael Jackson is actually dead." I burst out laughing because I never once mentioned to her how I felt about the situation and I couldn't believe she actually did. She's such a level-headed thinker that I thought even the idea would be ridiculous to her.
