Janet Jackson interview...

OK I am just 10 minutes into this interview....and I DON'T BELIVE HER! I was very nervous to watch this -- she is LAUGHING. She can't wipe the smirk off of her face. I have watched Janet interviews on youtube today just so I could see how she interviews....and she is having a hard time keeping a straight face.
I will comment more when this is finished...

Thoughts anyone???

What caught my attention was the fact that she is wearing white, makes excuses for smiling (although it may be true, lots of people smile when hurt..or nervous?) and says Michael was like a director.

As of now..she hasn't said the D word..but its not over yet. Let's see..

She appears to be in a very happy place. I swear I thought she was going to just break out laughing.....I have not seen Janet giggle like that before. Very smug.

Always wanted to be an actress? She is not good at it...I think she should stick to singing (NO DISRESPECT).

I really like Janet a LOT but in my opinion, she just BLEW THIS! Come on, she forgot where she was when MJ died!

It's over. I cried in the beginning with all those clips of June 25th and CNN, and Jermaine's speech in the hospital and the casket at the memorial. But I actually feel pretty good right now. She didn't really say much to rid me of all hope. She was dressed in white, smiling, never once said dead, killed, murdered. She mentioned that Michael was like a director (idk why that stuck out so much to me) and she did lie by saying she was in New York. She said she was the little sister that always had his back. I guess she still does Very Happy

I'm anxious to see what you guys thought!

If you look back to the memorial (when Janet, Rebbie and Latoya) went to say thank you to the fans that were not able to get into the Staples Centre...we saw a sad Janet (quiet and serious). We also saw the same tone when she was at the BET Awards and also when she performed Scream.....with MJ on screen in the background. Our little Miss Janet Jackson does NOT smile all of the time when things are sad or difficult....actually, she can play the part.
I really thought Janet was going to sit down and talk about what a devastating loss this has been, how justice needs to be served, how MJ was tortured his entire life by the media and now his life has ended this way.......BUT NO, she just giggled and got her stories mixed up.

Well, if I had one thing to say to Janet it would be, GOOD FOR YOU, YOU ARE HONEST and CANNOT LIE WELL AT ALL!!!!

I don't think she ever said the "d" word...whew! I'm glad b/c that was all very hard for me to watch. All the clips of them together made me miss him all over again.. Janet Jackson interview... Icon_cry

I was watching her mannerisms for signs of lying but have to admit I'm going to have to watch some old interviews to really see how she normally talks.....however, I noticed her eyes shifting to the left mostly when she said things I just didn't believe which is a common sign of lying (not everyone, of course.) She definitely was nervous and held her hands together tightly or even had arms folded which typically means you are guarding yourself from being hurt, embarrassed or just trying to not let anyone in, etc. As for the smiling, she says that's her defense mechanism but really hard to tell.....idk Janet Jackson interview... On a side note, I thought it sounds like she's still in love with Jermaine Dupri and I'm very happy to hear how he helped her gain confidence/self-esteem and really be happy w/who she is b/c she is sooo beautiful. I have always wanted to look like her Janet Jackson interview... Icon_redface

but just can't afford plastic surgery like the Jackson's can.. LOL!

Well in my case I can say, smiling/giggling is a defense mechanism when I am lying. I cannot tell a lie w/out smiling or giggling if my life depended on it! IT doesn't mean I don't lie but I do it better when is over the phone and I don't have to face anyone Wink

I am going based on what you guys are saying because here on the west Coast the interview won't be on 'till 10pm and it's barely going to be 9pm.

I totally agree with you.....I think she is still in love with Jermaine. I wouldn't doubt it if they were still together. She was married for 8 years and nobody knew.....I am certain she is still with her hunny, Jermaine. Her brother is alive and she is in love -- that is why she is SMILING!

And also i remember daddy Joe.....when he was on an interview with Larry...he received the call from somebody( i think it was Michael ) hi was smilling wnen he took a look at cell phone display....and when Larry asked -are u OK, Joe?...he answered, still was smiling - Oh yes, Larry...EVERYTHING is ok...( of course Janet Jackson interview... ) and now we see...Janet has received the call phone also....and i`m sure it was Michael again....just checked theirs hard actions....lolIt's under control, don't worry...He is a director!

No I think it was a trailer for a movie. They showed dancing with the stars a while ago. The trailer came on at a commercial break of the interview.

Well I was expecting to be upset after watching it, but I'm not. I watched it twice, and she really didn't say or do anything that made me think she couldn't have been covering for him. She did get tears in her eyes when speaking about the children, but that was the only part where I saw any real emotion. How can she be in a good place after her brother dying, and breaking up with her long time partner? It makes about as much sense as Diana Ross saying she's had a great year. I don't get it...either everyone around him is callous, or they weren't as close as they say, or he's still alive.

MY opinion is that he is still ALIVE! Wink

It's the only thing that makes sense to me. She never really said "anything" conclusive. I thought even when talking about Murray and the propofol she was quiet careful as to how she answered.

Lol,me and my husband watched that Interview.And he was the first one to notice,about what she said about that phonecall waiting comment.He thought that I'm crazy,telling everytime about this hoax thing.But this time he was Live with me,and he was like:"What the heck,how can she wait for his phonecall to call her all kinda nicknames,when he is dead?" Razz

I think,he 's turning to the believer's side slowly.At least finaly he sees something is fishy, it was about time bounce

I was very puzzled when Janet said she's doing well! How can that be if WE are still mourning & she is sooo close to MJ? Doesn't make any sense, does it? I mean, I can accept the fact someone is gone & I also start giggling when talking about sad things BUT I'd never say that I'm well!

Apparently she isn't that furious considering Murray's role in her brother's "passing" & the fact that he still isn't arrested! JJ is NOT a cold hearted person & I truly believe she wouldn't rest until judgement day! I smell fish! It all seems sooo wrong...

Finally saw it and she seems A OK! I am kind of in shock. I'm not saying she should've been crying but I remember her from other interviews and she can be pretty serious when it comes to serious things. Her brother's 'death' seems to be not one of those serious things. Janet Jackson interview... Suspect

Anyway..SHE LOOKED AMAZING!! She reminds me so much of Michael..Their mannerisms and eyes and especially their smile is exactly the same.

I watched the interview last night as well and her mannerisms were odd. It was obvious to me that when she was talking about her childhood, career and life that she was telling the truth because her eyes shifted right. There were times when she talked about Michael and you could tell she was remembering because again her eyes shifted right. However, anytime anything having to do with his death came up her gaze shifted down and left. I studied her every move. Her arms were kept close to her, the smiling, and her lack of any real eye contact with Robin all told me that she was not being completely honest in any of this.

Does anyone know what the date was that the family had their get together that we were told was for Joe and Katherine's anniversary. It would be interesting to know because Janet said that was the last time she had seen him and that it was 2 days before her birthday which is May 16. So unless that family get together was May 14, there is another inconsistency.

After watching this interview, I felt an odd sense of closure, like everything will be alright. I am more at peace with the situation then ever before, whether he is here or not (which it is looking more and more like he is still here with us on Earth).

In the beginning of the interview, she said something about it being still hard for her to believe that he is gone. I also took note of the director comment. I think she said towards the end that there was a lot going on and she has been thinking about life lately. I also noticed the actress comment. On a sidenote, she has gotten much better acting wise. In Why Did I Get Married?, I thought she did a great job. I can't wait to see part two. She didn't really give a reason for her and JD's break up which she didn't need to say at all but it was odd how much in love she seems to still be yet broke up with him? Could it be because of this hoax? This is all speculation but maybe she couldn't stay with him temporarily because she couldn't tell him anything and she didn't want to lie to him so they broke up for now. Just a thought. I could be wrong.

And this is sorta off topic but she looked fabulous! I'm proud and happy that she is learning to love herself for who she is. And I can't wait to see the video and to see what else she has in store.

very interesting. I was a little bit worried about this interview when I first heart it was going to happen, but seems it was calm, just like everything is. (Which is odd, someone has been "murdered", there should be a storm atm)

She did look really good. Flawless face IMO. They all have that soft spoken voice....shades of Michael.

But you are right, something seemed off about the behavior.

I also raised my eyebrow when she said "He was like the Director" when he helped her do her Mae Wst impersonation on the show when she was young.

The eye movements and the shifting is what made me believe that she is definitely hiding the truth.
And when she siad THE TRUTH will PREVAIl, I fell outta my chair.
AND JANET IS SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL. She looks like she is in her late 20's.

I'm still a PURE BELIEVER that our DEAR MJ is alive and well.

I'm glad you reacted that way because I just watch part 1, and I felt like Janet was sincere which scared me. But I did"t pay really attention to all the details since I had to be quick ( I got a lot of exams the following weeks) and when I'll watch it again I'll be more careful.

Hey, I noticed the same thing. I watched it last night over my mother's house. She was about to turn and told her NO! I gotta see this!! I believe the interview was about her but I feel it more about Michael too, you know and just how she answered some of the questions. I was reading some other information and had my paper and pen writing down some of her responses from below:

I'd watched the interview also. I did feel some things, especially when Janet would shift her eyes each time Robin brought up about MJ and Joesph of the child abuse. I thought Janet was in Atlanta with Tyler Perry on the set taping "Why Did I Get Married II." Tyler Perry has told the media how Janet took the news about her brother. Now she is saying she was home at her New York Apartment.

I agree with comments that she was very selective on what she was saying and hold back alot of information. Why wonder why she and some of siblings haven't seen the movie?
