Janet Jackson interview...

Just found this link and it appears that the date she gave for the last time she seen him was correct. The family did get together on May 14.

Another thing I am thinking is that when you go through the stages of grief, shouldn't she be at this point going through the angry phase? I know each person does things in their own time but how can she be so calm and composed when talking about Murray? I would think that we should have been able to see a change in her demeanor atleast when speaking about him but all she said was he was the one who administered and her appearance never changed.


Dont forget this interview was TAPED. If something came off bad, they probably just re-did it and used the best, most professional looking "janet" ....you know what I mean? If she broke down and called him a bastard, they wouldnt use that for TV...they re taped and used the one where she was composed and calm and professional.....They cant have Janet looking bad on TV...But I see what you mean as well...

The VIEW will be in on in a few minutes....I am waiting to see if Whoopi says anything about Janet's interview. They discuss all topics....

I caught something right away at the beginning of the interview..

Janet says that she was at her house in NY and that she didn't know anything until her assistant called her to tell her of the breaking news on CNN.

CNN reports that MJ suffered cardiac arrest "this afternoon" -- CA time.

I live in NY, the time is 3 hours ahead of CA. I remember that the news of MJ's collapse started broadcasting at about 2:30 PM.

This would correspond within a half hour that I am allowing for discrepancy based on what the chef Kai Chase has said...that events started happening at around noontime (CA time). This would have made it 3:00 PM NY time. I remember that the news of his "death" broke at about 5:30 PM.

How could Janet have received a phone call in the morning NY time?

Stories not straight again? Or did she really receive a call much before that the news started breaking? If her phone call was really based on the CNN report, she had to have gotten it in the afternoon.

In the beginning of the interview and I mentioned it on another post about her interview here that she said we all need a safe haven. Hmmmm.

Yeah, I saw that too but didn't think much about it until you just pointed it out. Another clue?

I mean, why do she need a safe haven? To me that was something being thrown out there, that is just my opinion. I could be wrong.

I just saw Janet's interview on tv and I have to say she acted mysterious if she got more to hide and she was very much smiling.

I agree. She did look a bit mysterious. It was almost as if she was even whisperingg. And your right she was smiling the whole time, although I think that's just a Jackson thing cause Michael does it too. But who know...

Wow! Janet is so much like MIchael...her smile, her gestical things...her character..Janet is an amazing, warm woman

Yeah she even said, excuse me for smiling but I do that when some things get kinda painful and then she said it's like my protection shield.

The interview with Tyra is actually 6 parts instead of 5 but what I noticed was that she was more open in both interviews that I posted. She made eye contact and although she was still soft spoken she didn't seem as shy as she did last night.

yeah she's more serious even though she was embaressed about that... In her last Interview she was so much like Michael! She was 100% like Michael

i also think she could have reacted differently (to all the "rumours" around, the hoax and so on).
She seemed to be thinking about every word she said.

I would have thought that if laughter is her "protection shield" that she would have been acting very similarly in the Oprah video regarding the Super Bowl mishap but she was very focused and calm. No signs of laughter or smiling. Maybe losing your clothes at the Super Bowl is more serious than your brother dying. Sorry, don't mean to be so sarcastic but it just seems odd that she smiled and laughed through the whole interview last night.

At this point, does anyone believe that Janet was even trying to be serious during the interview? I find it so unbelievable as to be surreal.

I was unable to watch the interview. I must say that the feedback that you guys provide is amazing. So Miss Jackson almost slipped up and said something and covered it up with a smile. How sweet of her...lol.

Janet did smile quite a lot to me. It's really tricky sometimes, but it did almost feel as though she was hiding something.

Somehow, I think the family are protecting Michael - that's what families are for. They obviously can't say too much at present, but as Janet herself said 'the truth will prevail.'

Okay, I know that I'm going to get in trouble, but I am a rebel.
But I have NEVER liked Janet. Even when I was a little girl. She alway
appeared smug to me when it came to her family. To me, it almost seems like
she thinks she is better then them, including Michael. I'll never forget when she did a short
little interview with like a VJ or something on MTV. The VJ made a little snide comment about how
it felt that she the only normal member of her family. She just laughed and went on with the interview. With the other members of the family, it was obvious that they were just using Michael's death for their own gain. With Janet, it just seem she did the interview about Michael to get it "over with" so she could go back to her career. Sorry folks.

I don't have any more issues with Janet than I have with most of the rest of the family, but I definitely understand your perception. It seems to me that Janet did the ABC interview not to just get "it" over with and return to her career, but rather to further her career -- just like many of her other siblings (and Poppa Joe) have been doing since June 25th.

Janet's latest album came out on November 17th. So, it isn't a coincidence that she's giving a major television interview and opening a major awards ceremony this weekend, right around the time of the album's release.

Publicity, publicity, publicity. I stopped following her on Twitter because I got tired of the tweets about her new album. She almost never says anything personal -- it's all about her projects and promoting them.

I realy thought that it was an interview only about mj and that lies around june 25th, but no.
Some of here awnsers are very strange to make IMO and i got the idea she think not twice but 3 times of what word is comming out of here mouth and how to say it.
And the giggling part IMO is just for what she says is protecting herself and i know what she means by that.

After watching this video my opinion is still the same:D altho i have to admit that my eyes were full of water at some parts(the donk part and the part where you hear here talking about here brother and see pictures and stuff like that)

Well, I don't think she is using her brother because she never had to and she does not need to now. I think she is just all about herself. I think she takes pride that she is famous, but the media largely treats her well. Again, I feel she just did the interview to "get it over with" because a lot of people would have been pretty pissed if she just talked about her album and nothing else. She just seems to be very smug and all about herself, IMO.

Interviews are a form of publicity for entertainers when they have new projects available, so what I meant is that I believe Janet gave the interview because she has a new album out.

Of course, it's also possible she agreed to the TV Q&A to avoid speculation about why she hasn't said anything about Michael lately. But I think the appearance was primarily to "get herself out there" and help promote her new album.

I was looking closely at the framed photos she was showing Robin and is it just me or in that "last" photo of MJ she had from her birthday in May where he is sitting with Blanket and other family members on the couch,he didn't look to pleased like he would rather be elsewhere?
Poor MJ looked both uncomfortable and a bit cheesed off

I noticed that too but hey, he is allowed to not be happy. Everyone has their rough days and hardtimes, we have to remember he is not just the Pop Icon, but a true genuine person as well.

Not only did she say she was in New York now, but did anyone catch the TIME she heard about him being taken to the hospital? She said it was a morning like any other when the phone rang and she was told her brother was not well.... it wasn't morning in New York, or anywhere else in the States (except hawii). it was afternoon. New york it would have been around 4 pm.
