initially Alvarez was gone for a while if i remember correctly his wife stated he was gone and didnt know when he would be back

But remember Alvarez and Michaels chief of (something lol sorry dont remember what he did) recently gave the LAPD their first hand accunts of what happened at the house and what they saw which were consistant with one another.

I think he was gone because he gave the LAPD his account of the story about a week ago, kinda late into the investigation being the victims body gard and all
