NEWS: LAPD chief of police stated last night that he will be leaving the department:
"I've been here for 7 years...." "I'll be leaving the LAPD as of October 31st."

(There's that number 7 again. And why October 31st??)

No one asked him why.....no one asked him anything!

Paula anounces that she's not coming back...on Twitter!!??!!

As the entertainment reporters were talking w/ each other, they mentioned, "Maybe she anounced it on Twitter so that she would get the reaction(s) from the fans..." then she may have a change of heart or be able to negotiate a better deal once producers hear fans' reactions. (That was my take on it..)

reading that gave me the chills! what a coincidence! i really wonder why he's leaving. maybe all that's going on is too much for him, or maybe once all is said and done he can be free to discuss things without him losing his job.

But I thought the 'This Is It' movie comes out on October 30th? Unless I've read it wrong.

It does come out on the 30th. That makes the chief choosing the 31st to leave very strange. Why the 31st? Isnt that a Saturday? Who leaves on the weekend? It's just odd that th chief will be leaving a day after the movie hit theaters. Strange.

Exactly he will be "leaving on saturday", but his real last day being the friday

This will be my best halloween ever, even when do not have it on Brazil, I will for sure throw a party!

OK, let's say this is a comeback hoax. MJ obviously would need help from key players in the police, coroner's office, etc.
What better situation than enrolling the help of somebody who is about to retire??

Los Angeles: Earlier today, Wednesday, August 5th, I met with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to inform him of my intention to resign my position as Chief of our great Department effective October 31st, so that I may pursue new professionalization of policing opportunities in the private sector. There is never a good time to leave a job and a Department that you love and enjoy, but there is always a right time. That time has now come for me professionally and personally to seek new career challenges.

Does that mean that he is leaving being the LAPD chief to become something else in the police field? Why not just stay with the LAPD? What is higher in the police field than being a police chief?
