Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
Here is the link to the artile:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090925/ap_on_en_mu/us_michael_jackson_tapes
Here is the part I found most interesting (the bolded)
Add more things about the Rabbi Schmuley tapes and I will update it here
Shall we call this thread the official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread?
The self-described "King of Pop" seemed to sense during the interviews in 2000 and 2001 that his life was winding down.
"I would like some way to disappear where people don't see me anymore at some point," Jackson said. "I don't want to grow old. I never want to look in the mirror and see that."

Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
I'm all for MJ disappearing if this is what makes him happy BUT what I can't get my head around is why did he announce a comeback so he could disappear??????
His life was very quiet the last 3 years or so and if he wanted to disappear he was going the right way about it. So why comeback to just disappear again... Makes no sense to me.

Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
I thought that too, but then I thought that would make more sense doing this. Because the media arent going to go around searching for a dead man. do you get what i mean? like, if he just disappeared, they would search for him. The comeback tour movie is his way of doing his last concert IMO. He did all the dress rehearsals for footage for a movie, that would be viewed by the whole world. It would show he still has what it takes to make it. Plus it thrust him back into the spotlight so when his death came it was even more of a shock.

Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
Hmmm maybe, I understand exactly what you mean but how I see it is the media weren't really hounding him the last few years, I never really heard about him.
He was here in Ireland and the media here didn't bother him. He moved back to L.A. to the mothership of Media this year, I just find it all very odd.
He'd be spending the rest of his life looking over his shoulder and always going out in disguise so that's not really a normal life it's actually no different to the way he was living.
The media is talking all sorts of BS now and because he's "dead" he can't defend himself, if he were "alive" he could threaten to sue. Do you know what I mean? I can't see how this new life gives him peace!

but people dont write nasty things about dead people
and you cant sue a dead man also
it may have been his way of getting out of debt
and living a comfortable respected life

Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
what i also find interesting is the way rabbi states himself, there was michael jackson and then there was the KING OF POP so,if this is saying anything maybe whoever it was that put on a different thread here, when the children placed a crown on the casket, perhaps they were saying goodbye to THE KING OF POP and NOT necessarily michael jackson, makes
sense in a roundabout way, but, this does certainly stand up to that and makes sense, and perhaps this was said and done this way so WE would know and WHY he wanted out.

I just don't believe that Michael had nothing to live for in 2001. Nonsense! He had two beautiful children and then Blanket came along in 2002. Michael loves his children. At least three reasons to want to live.

Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
wanting to live and his life winding down could mean TWO different things, maybe in winding down he means, he wants nothing to do with celebrity status anymore,a more relaxec life with his children and him PRIVATELY now.at least thats the way i am thinking,he had done it nearly all,the money, the fame, the accolades, etc. he didnt have much of a private life anytime he went out in public,it didnt matter WHERE he was,he was hounded by press, fans, etc. if all think he is dead,he could possibly walk around and act like an impersonator instead of king of pop? i dont know just a thought

Maybe to get the world thinking about him and looking forward to his return and to show the world that he was willing to perform again before his "death" Plus do you maybe think he needed to say "this is it" in a last announcement (which he did keep saying "this is it" and "last curtain call") and what better way to do it than an announcement for a run of concerts. What I cannot get my head round is the fact that they upped to number from 10 to 50 so he cant have planned his "death" because of that as some have suggested as the hoax would have been planned for quite some time-is not something to be rushed OR was it rushed and that is why there are many blips/mistakes that we are noticing left, right and centre. We need more clues.

Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
In recounting one conversation, he said: "Madonna laid down the law to me before we went out," saying, "'I am not going to Disneyland, okay? That's out.'
I am not a huge Madonna fan but I must give her props for this one.
It seems that 2003 was a pivitol year. Michael approached Bashir to do the documentary and the Schmuley book was originally scheduled for release. Perhaps if released at the time, the book would have been a good counter-attack against the Bashir documentary.

Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
I located this on the MSNBC site. Not sure if posted already. It covers the full segment. Haunting is the best word that I can use to describe it.
Children 'saved me,' Michael Jackson said
Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, a friend and counselor to Michael Jackson, taped conversations with the King of Pop for two years. With Jackson's permission to later share the recordings, the two discussed Jackson's most painful childhood memories, his feelings toward women, his intense loneliness, and more. Dateline NBC has revealed the tapes for the first time.

Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
Wow! I read the interviews. MJ really went through alot. It was sad to hear that his father would tell him he would drop them like a hot potato. What kind of mess is this to say to a child. I was kinda tripping off the part about him and Madonna going out.
Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
I am tripping on him dating Madonna bit .... didn't know he didn't like her at all ..... & Rabbi Shmuley .... only making money for himself ... His childhood was horrible ... & His father made me so angry - seeing his father's face inrages me so badly .....
Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
Earth Angel,
Wasn't that something. I can imagine how he was looking when Madonna was saying all of that to him. I am still kinda of cracking up thinking about it boy she was a handful.

He is dead to the world now and they ARE writing bad hings about him and SUING him as well...So being "dead" doesn't help him that much as far as I see it...

Well actually a comeback makes more sence to me.... just to build up a climax!!!
It wouldn't have more attention if Michael just died in his room while he was sleeping (O wait he did..)
But the fact that people were anticipating made the whole death that much interesting.
And the part were fans get personally involved makes it even better (With the sold out tickets, refund and all..) It just makes perfect sense and it is quit igneous!!!
He totally did something nobody was expecting, he did the unexpected!!!
Quote:
"Magic. Wonderment, excitement, the unexpected, escapism. Creating something that is so incredible, an illusion. You put people in the situation, no matter what it maybe give them totally the opposite of the unexpected, so much more then what they thought would happen fewwwwww… just blow there minds. I like creating magic, excellence….I love doing that, there’s nothing like it!!"

I called myself ishealive back in June when I came across MJHD, I didn't expect to get hooked on it I just entered the first name that popped into my head and back then I wasn't as sure as I am now that he's alive, I was 50/50 so yeah it was a question!
Kind of stuck with the name now *lol*

Ok guys.. call me crazy or however you want and judge me if you think that I also judge this man without knowing him, but... God... how am I gonna tell it... A few days ago I was on the MJHD chat( before I left it for good) and someone asked me to send a link with the Rabbi pic. Until that moment I didnt have the chance to see how the man it looks. So I looked for a pic of his on the Google. My first reaction:OMG, this man has a face of a bad person. And so he is. A traitor. I didnt like him at all.. Neither the impress he had left me neither those interviews or tapes or whatever. I was scared. Really scared. I really doubt that this Rabbi was for real Michael's friend. It was a strange feeling the moment I looked at the pic and I saw his eyes.. I felt something bad... Really bad. Maybe I am crazy, you can judge me, thats ok, I wont get upset for that... but I have learned to read people from the first sight and I can feel also when a person is good or bad. I am not a medium, I wish I could have been one, but I am not... its just my sixth sense. If I am wrong I would admit that I was mistaken... but if I am not... I would say... told ya.

No you are not wrong. Sometimes you can tell a persons charactor from their faces, My Mum is a very good judge of this also, she says if a person is meanspirited and not a good person it shows in the face and 99 times out of a 100 she is right. You may well have something there.

I do not want this to sound bad as I adore Michael and have done almost all my life but he is worth more dead than alive and if he IS NOT coming back he will need all he can get financially to set him up for life for him and his children, also he would want to bow out with the world loving him, he has been deeply hurt for the past few years and he was a broken man after the court case. Now after his death the world loves him again, there is the Michaelmania that he had in the days of Thriller, I only hope is is alive to see the adulation that everyone has for him now which by rights he deserved while he was alive.

Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
I didnt buy the book...after I read on the Heal the World site what Melisa Johnson said about him(and it was before this book came out). He screwed over MJ in his years with him financialy and with HTW-THAT is why they split,it was not because the rabbi was protecting himself.
Anyway thats on another thread or it should be-I posted it before we revamped the forum.
I just found this http://site2.mjeol.com/shmuley-boteach/boteach-slammed-by-fellow-rabbi.html

The great thing is that I heard last week that the book wasn't selling well at all -- i think they waid it was only somewhere in the 200s on Amazon.com.
So I guess he isn't making the kind of $$ that he thought he would off of MJ.

Wow, I read the other link. Looks like this guy is getting stoned for coming out with the tapes on MJ.
Re: Official Rabbi Shmuley Boteach thread - A must read IMO
@infinitylady-I really wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt...truly,but when I realised this was the same Rabbi that Melissa Johnson talked about in her letter on Heal The World Foundations website after June 25th ,I did a little more research. There was a big fallout between them and apparently all the newsmedia that carried interviews with him for his book totally forgot about it. He is saying that he severed ties with Jackson because of his degenerative lifestyle..well that was not the story 8 years ago. I was real depressed after his Dateline special-then I realised that these were most definantly therapy sessions-I seriously doubt that Michael intended for his views on Madonna and his experiences with Lisa to be just "out there". So,as I see him as being less then truthful I can't support him as being Michaels friend. It is sad-it really is. i hate that all these people who were supposed to be friends who Michael trusted just stabbed him in the back.

Wow. This is just messed. This man didn't really have a lot of friends when you look at it.

I just listened to all of the tapes and it made cry to hear Michael's voice and hear him cry. I mean how much can someone bear?? This is so tragic. And I agree the Rabbi now just wants to make money with those tapes and isn't in any way better than the tabliod press!!
