My Message To Michael

Michael, I have written this for you - and for all of my lovely new friends here on the forum.

The nights were dark, the days were darker,
Cold, ice, rain fell like the tears from my heart,
I was lost within myself, like a single leaf on a tree,
Like the only flower in a mass of green fields,
Like the only word in a song,
No tune to sing, no note to play.

My dreams full of pain, they wouldn't go away,
Looking up at the stars of a night,
I looked for you, you should have been so bright,
Not understanding, confusion was all around me,
How did this come to be, and where would it take me?
Some days were good, but most of them haunted me.

Was my faith enough to take me along this road?
Were you really there holding my hand, standing so close?
For I could not see you in those dark nights and even darker days,
Without you here I was empty, not the same,
But I shouldn't have been so sad, I needed to look around me,
There are many beautiful things, I had to open my eyes.

I have been given strength from others like me,
New friends, more precious than gold and who give life new meaning,
From now and forever, I will not let them go,
Together we are stronger, united in our search for the truth,
Now I feel you are near me, holding my hand, standing close,
But not in another place, no, you are here on earth.

Know this Michael, our love for you will always be here,
Growing more and more each day, as the days and the nights become brighter again,
Our arms will welcome you back with hearts so glad, happiness and joy,
No more dreams full of pain when you are with us again,
Just knowing that you are safe, healthy and happy,
We all stand together, with faith, truth, love and the most precious of friendships.
