Before TII came on, during the previews there was a clip of Orianthi new album. I was wondering when in the world did she have time to make this album? Before MJ 'death' she was rehearsing for TII and it's only been 4 months since he 'died'. I don't think 4 months is a lot of time to produce an album with a single and a music video.

Not to mention that it came out in October, and she would have been at the O2 touring. When and how would she have time to promote her BeLIEve album while touring?

I've talked to her before, she's alright. She said it was an honor to be in TII. I wonder why Michael didn't hire Jennifer Batten, his longtime guitarist. I mean since it was his final tour, why not use her, and go out with a bang? Instead he hires someone completely knew. I mean Orianthi is very talented, but why not Jennifer? I wonder if they had a falling out. But then again, she's always defending him on twitter.

I just don't understand when she would have had time to produce an album. Maybe when she found out that Michael couldn't do 50 shows and they were just going to record the 'rehearsals' for the movie she had time in between filming. (if that makes sense to you guys)

And I think if it wasn't for This Is It and MJ, nobody would know who she was.

Exactly!! I also think thats why Michael in the movie said, "It's your time to shine. It's your time to shine. And we'll all be right here with you when it happpens." And now the title of her abulm is Believe. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is it that they want us to Believe...

Michael Jackson's concert documentary This Is It made the King Of Pop the King Of The Box Office this week, as fans flocked to the theaters to catch a glimpse of what might have been, had the late superstar's London O2 Arena dates actually taken place. But the film also offered a glimpse of a young new talent whose career is just starting to explode: Jackson band member and guitar prodigy, Orianthi.

This 24-year-old Australian guitar goddess first captured American audiences' attention at this year's Grammy Awards, when she blazingly accompanied (some might even say upstaged) Grammy performer Carrie Underwood, and she has also been quite vocally championed by six-string legends Steve Vai and Carlos Santana. ("If I was going to pass the baton to somebody, she would be my first choice," Carlos once said of Orianthi.) It was in fact Orianthi's buzzy Grammy performance that made Michael himself take notice, and he quickly hired her to be his guitarist for the This Is It concerts. In fact, she was actually supposed to be Michael Jackson's official spokesperson during his much-hyped London residency.
Obviously, that sadly never came to pass, and Orianthi--who was actually with Michael the night before his death--ended up performing at Michael Jackson's Staples Center memorial instead. But still she raves: "Working with Michael was a life-changing experience, one I will never forget."
And now as Orianthi--recently named one of the "12 Greatest Female Electric Guitarists" in Elle magazine--releases her debut solo album Believe and lead single "According To You,"she is all over This Is It, electrifying the screen.

Yeah she was working on it prior to TII and returned to finish it off after Michael's supposed death. She was interviewed live on a show here and talked about what it was like working with Michael, how she was chosen by him and her album that she had been working on. No clue why she called it believe though.

She was twitting the whole summer about working on the album. This was after June 25th, she was sad, and working hard is like a medication. At least that could be the cover up.
