SOMETHING'S UP WITH MJDH....It's GONE..

Don't worry that won't happen to this site and MJDH did the same thing back in early Aug. This site has been up and running since then and hasn't had any kind of problems. MJDH site has nothing to this with this site. Keep the Faith!

I got just an empty blog page now when I tried to go there. Not sure what is going on or if they are still having technical difficulities or what. I hope its not down for good. Not sure how we can preserve any of the posts if they have been taken down...someone with more knowledge than me can hopefully answer that one. I am sooo glad Souza created this forum when MJHD was suddenly shut down before.

Amy or one of the mods there said that they were going to recommend to the "new admin" that they close it down for a few days once they took over. That's probably what is happening. But just because it appears to be "gone" that doesn't mean that the pages/info are necessarily gone. They probably just disabled the WP community plug-in; if so, once they enable it then it will be back up and running again.

If this is the same website I visited before, I think I read the administrator said she was not doing it anymore because she was being personally attacked. That someone else was going to take over on November 11.

I've been following this site and michaeljacksondeathhoax.com for months now. I just went to michaeljacksondeathhoax.com to read updates and it's gone!!! I read a few days ago that "Amy" was no longer the administrator. The site's overall look was a little different today & I was wondering who is in control of it now. I'm not sure what is going on, but I hope this site doesn't get removed too. Although I've never posted before, I feel very much a part of this group & it would be a shame after everyone's hard work if this site also became obsolete. Both of these sites have been a valuable source of information for all of us believers. I'm hoping someone out there who is technically inclined can come up with a back up plan - just in case this site also disappears. Any suggestions?
Also thisisalsoit.com is directing me to different sites. Ten minutes ago this site popped up and now it's directing me to youtube Liberian Girl. What is going on? I'm scared this site is next.

The "new admin" already introduced himself there...but one of the mods had said they'd be recommending to the "new admin" that they close the site down for a few days. Sounded like a punishment for all the posters there. They get kind of negative to each other over there (not all of them, but a lot of them), which is why I don't post there.

The person redirecting that domain should really just be ignored. I 100% believe it's just someone playing games.

But as for a backup site, anyone can build a free community. There are tons of resources on the web for that. It would be easy enough to get one up and running if needs be.

Hi there!! This is the first time I've posted here - I checked the forum out before tho. Some of you may recognize my name from MJHD.
It definitely went down....I hope its not for a few days again. There has been a lot of drama there, and anyone can attest to that.
But I think I'll frequent both boards from now on, like many people do.

I think the new Admin at MJHD is doing too much alteration on the site. Just too weird. It became a template or some sort....

Looks like they're no longer going to use Word Press...switching to the phpBB community instead. Wise choice. WP plugins (which is what the community was on there) are too often unstable, which is evidenced by all the trouble people had posting on there all the time.

I kind of doubt that they'd be able to import all the posts from WP to phpBB. I don't know for sure, but it's possible that everything and everyone will be starting from scratch.

Guys, but did the Admin warn us about this? i went to bed earlier last night, it's morning here now. i only rememeber that announcement that the forum was updated and it might not work for 30 min. and then it was blue and everybody liked it.

Guys, guys! Didn't a week or two ago, we said something about that one thread on Michael Jackson dot com about the death hoax, how they'd leave it up, because it would draw suspicions if it magically disappeared? But it might have been taken down if fans were getting too close to the truth?..

Well, what if it happened for MJDH? Just a thought.. because more and more fans are believing this thing.. or do you think it's just honestly technical difficulties? Just a thought..

I think it's a software change for the board.

The site was set up working with wordpress which is a forum software developping company. They have two models on how one may use their software: either run your site on their servers or buy / lease the software to run it on a different server.

Admin choose to do the latter. Which implies that you do all software updates on your own and are more or less self responsible for the thing working or not. Due to the increasing traffic and members Admin moved the site to another server with more performance features. The real issue in this forum turn out to be the masses of pictures which do eat so much storage volume that it gets really costly.

Now they changed Admin (how many times did they acutally do it? Amy twittered in September about an admin guy) and obviously the second time the hosting server but it's still at godaddy.com in Arizona. We still have a daily whois-change which means that they are hiding "who is behind that site".

So let's hope now that the change from wordpress to phpbb software will do good and that the data base doesn't get lost with the change.
www.phpbb.com gives more on that software. php is a programming software just as java or html but you may combine it with many more features.

You may register anew - still don't see the old posts and there are some new ones.

My bet is:
this is really a guy behind it now, it's still private because it's so unprofessional, and the guy is going to screw it up completely.

You don't change the software and get a site live in the web without having everything ready. Even the layout is not fixed.
He will have a new database with new postings and an old one that he may in best case make accessible as an archive - if at all.

Don't count on it coming back. If you come across important things, download them (best print as pdf files - there's a lot of free good software for this in the web).

Actually, the free WP hosted "software" is only blogging software. Online communities cannot run on that WP--they don't allow it. An online community can only be installed on WP that is self-hosted through a web host of someone's choosing. And the community will only run if a plug-in/add-on is installed for a community. WP in and of itself is only blogging software; anything that it's used for beyond that must be done with plug-in's and such to give it that functionality. I know this because I have 2 websites that I run WP on through my web host; and I also have a WP hosted free blog that they host on their servers (and they are very limited WP blogs that they just don't allow you to run extras on).

So in reality, the admin at MJHD did not have a choice about how to run their community on WP.

I would be very surprised if they can import all the posts and such from the old WP community database. Not saying it's impossible, just not very likely. The formats are just too different, I don't think it can be done. It'd be great for them if it could, but I'd be really surprised if it works.

i think they are just uploading the old threads and it's just a technical issue, but i would't like registering again...and i wish they could keep the old look as much as possible.....i am a little scared of what will happen to that site now with the new admin...but i just hope it doesn't get shut down because i really enjoyed it......

Yes I do find strange those words, but I dont know where their from.... dont have enough info to make a accurate assumption on them. Do you have extra info?
