HOLY CR@P!! How did we miss that?
I must have listened to Michael's version of 'Smile' a million times and Jermaine's second 'Smile' slip (the first being the switch of gladness/sadness) didn't even stand out to me at all.
He made it an effortless part of the song and didn't give any indication that he'd fluffed, not one but twice in the same song.

I remember watching the Save The World Awards 2009 and he sang 'Smile; normally, I was watching out for the gladness/sadness switch and it didn't happen.

It's at the 5:00 minute mark, and he gets this second line slip-up right too.

The Memorial was a deliberate slip, I believe that it is meant for us [and others], the ones who are really looking out for it and who don't buy into the media BS.

Hmmm... Is Jermaine actually bright enough to pull off something like that with such finesse? If he is, I guess my douchebag impression of him has been way off.

I'd like to believe the second lyrics switch is significant, but this IS Jermaine we're talking about. I'd have to wonder how his other self-serving behavior since June 25 fits in with this possibility.

Maybe because he's broke and Michael wants to give him a chance to make some money. It seems like something Michael would do. I read that when Jermaine got taken to court a few years back he said he only had $800 to his name, and he had to pay child support for 6 kids.
The problem is, he lacks the dignity and finesse that Michael has so he just looks like a money-grubbing leech so it's backfired on him even though he's raking it in now.

Sounds plausible. The court part is correct, as is the notion of Michael helping Jermaine out despite their past. Hope all is true!

Why was their not ONE tear running from Jermaines eyes? I was not able to contain myself. I cryed my heart out, like I did all through the memoriel.

I liked the song, even though he blew it.

But then i saw the casket, OH MY GOD. I had almost forgot about that, and when i watched it again, I felt something weird going through my body, I felt so sick to my stomack AGAIN.

Normally i dont even go near pictures of the casket or the ambulance picture, because its too hard for me to look at it.

I think the reason for singing the song correctly at the awards is because he no longer had to pretend to be sad!(He was no longer being an actor if you can call him that) so he could be himself and sing the correct words. whereas at the memorial he and the family had to pretend to be sad hence why he switch the words!

he is not a good actor at all.. even if he cries when he's being interviewed, you can see that he's acting.. sometimes he becomes o.a(over acting)..
