Re: Kenny O will be on Oprah
Well that's interesting. I assume he will be on because of This Is It? So she's still trying to profit off of someone she thinks is a child predator. I'm so done with Oprah...she's a backstabbing b*tch. How many more shows is she going to do on MJ, while making sure her audience knows that she doesn't support him? She's obviously doing another show with this... https://www.oprah.com/plugform.jsp?plugId=2783313&referer=http://www.oprah.com/pluglist.jsp?teamTypeName=TOWS

Oh please -- I might give in just to to watch KO and see what may slip but as for O, I didn't like what she had to say at all during her "tribute".

Re: Kenny O will be on Oprah
I just came across the article where Kenny Ortega says Michael was scared God was going to give his ideas to Prince. I am so disgusted with this bullsh*t.
http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/story/prince-rivalry-kept-jackson-up-at-night_1119199
PRINCE RIVALRY KEPT JACKSON UP AT NIGHT
MICHAEL JACKSON's longtime pop rivalry with PRINCE was partly to blame for the superstar's death - because he worked himself into the grave to make sure his comeback shows in London were better than anything the PURPLE RAIN hitmaker could produce.
Randy Phillips, the promoter behind the ill-fated comeback shows, has revealed the costs of the This Is It production were spiralling out of control in the weeks leading up to the King of Pop's death in June (09) - because the pop superstar couldn't stop coming up with expensive ideas.
Phillips, the president of promotion firm AEG Live which organised the London concerts, held a meeting with Jackson and his musical director Kenny Ortega and begged the star to stop adding ideas.
He tells Entertainment Weekly magazine that Jackson was worried Prince would get the ideas if he ignored them.
He explains, "We went and met with Michael, and Kenny said, 'Michael, you've got to stop. We've got an incredible show, we don't need any more vignettes.'
"Michael said, 'But Kenny, God channels this through me at night. I can't sleep because I'm so super-charged.'
"Kenny said, 'But Michael, we have to finish. Can't God take a vacation?' Without missing a beat, Michael said, 'You don't understand - if I'm not there to receive these ideas, God might give them to Prince.'"

Re: Kenny O will be on Oprah
I've been doing a lot of reading on Michael's life since his "death" and it seems that at least in his own mind, he had a rivalry with Prince and wanted to "outdo" him. This has shown up in several articles and books as a theme. Who knows maybe there is some truth to this?

Re: Kenny O will be on Oprah
I know I've heard as well that he did have a bit of a rivalry with Prince, but I think that's exactly where this crap is coming from because I don't believe Michael would say that. But even if he did...for Kenny Ortega to repeat it, and make Mike look like he was delusional and had lost touch with reality, just burns me up.

Re: Kenny O will be on Oprah
@ I luvumore-- what you say is true but some of the sources that I have read this from were printed quite a few years ago so it's not anything that hasn't been heard/written before. I think that there might be a bit of truth in this.
I would think that some performers would think about their competition and use it as a driving force for their own creativity. Now is it to the extreme that we are know hearing about? Who knows? Many great artists/geniuses are a bit "mad" as they say (for example Van Gogh). There might have been an element of this in MJ.
My theory is to absorb all that is said and written, somewhere in between the extremes lies the truth and it up to us, as individuals, to make up our own minds once we absorb the information.
I think that we are all aware that the "real truth" is not being presented to us. This is why, even though I know that AEG is making a lot of money on the TII movie, I want to see it for myself (and on the big screen so that I can real absorb it). Let's not forget that MJ's estate will also make $$ and that will go his kids and the charities as specified in his trust.

Re: Kenny O will be on Oprah
I already have my tickets to the movie...I definitely want to see with my own eyes what was going on.
Michael and Prince had such different styles I don't really see where the competition was, and Michael tried to collaborate with him a few times to no avail. Prince wouldn't do We Are the World, or a Bad duet...and I heard he snubbed him again within the last couple of years as well. That's what makes me think these statements are fabricated or at the very least blown way out of proportion. http://newsroom.mtv.com/2009/06/29/michael-jackson-vs-prince-the-forgotten-rivalry/
Have you guys seen this before? It's so cute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CoxNzOOoQU
