Things to Know About Sony and MJHD

I keep reading all the posts on MJHD and speculation about Sony and on and on, so I just wanted to post a few things here.

First, it is HIGHLY unlikely that Sony owns the MJHD website. Why?

1. Sony registers its domains through corporatedomains.com. They do not go through GoDaddy (like MJHD) or other small-time domain registrars.

2. Sony has its own web servers, which means they have no need to host a website with a web hosting company. They have their own servers, so they can build their own websites and host them themselves. MJHD has never been on Sony's servers.

3. Sony builds quality websites (because they can afford to!). Nothing about MJHD shows quality. It's not professional. This is not meant to be an insult, just a simple observation. The MJHD that I saw was built on a WordPress blog platform, using a community plug-in/add-on to run a community. It was bug-filled, error-filled, and totally unreliable. Why would Sony want a site like that? It's not logical.

Now some info about MJHD, the Domain, and the Website, based on info and questions I've seen in other threads.

1. The Domain does not disappear just because the site does. They are 2 separate things. As of this moment, the domain is still registered and does not expire until 2011.

2. Just because they may have preserved the database, that does not mean they can use it on the new phpBB community; it's not necessarily possible to import the database from a WordPress blog/community format to the phpBB community. They are two different animals. I'm not saying it's impossible; just saying it's not likely. However, if they were to go back to the WP format, instead of going with the phpBB community, then in all likelihood, they could restore the old database on the new WP blog/community.

3. MJHD should have been backed up, yes. But that must be done by a person. I have 3 websites built on WordPress, and the only time I have ever backed them up was before doing a WP upgrade. Stupid? YES! But true, nonetheless. If Amy/admin did not backup, that's not a shocker. The same way it's not a shocker that most people don't back up their computer files (how many of you do that on a regular basis?!) like they should. They may have the database regardless, but as per my #2 above, that may not matter.

4. It's possible they are just not sure if they want to use the phpBB community; maybe they are changing web hosts and/or want to try something else all together. If they have decided to change web hosts, the site would not be online at all and result in error pages when going to that domain. That would explain why the site is "gone" at the moment.

5. The "Hello World" statement that was briefly on the MJHD site during all this transition period was not a weird message or mystery. That message appears on EVERY WordPress blog by default. So they had briefly reverted to a blog template in WordPress, and that's when that message appeared by default.

My point in saying all of this is to try to get people to calm down. Not everything is a big mystery or part of the hoax. Sometimes, especially with the Internet, things just get screwed up. Sometimes things just need to change or be improved. The MJHD site was a mess from what I could see. People could not register, posts would show up 3 or 4 times, or there'd be error messages when people tried to post and on and on. The format was filled with problems! Yes, it will S-U-C-K for the members there if all posts cannot be imported from their old database to a new one (which is a possibility), but it's not the end of the world. Crappy, I admit, but not the end of the world.

So please just calm down, and try not to let this get you all freaked out. Stuff happens. Just work together to move forward for MJ. I mean, what else can you do?!

They will try to fix the issues and thus the site is offline for the better.
Hopefully they will achieve what they want.

SONY is big stuff - they don't fork around with wordpress.
They have their own software developpers at hand to do it right.

But i still think it's a little too coincidental: the new admin, the drama, etc...and bam...forum gone

So the domain is ok...so why do we get that response that the page doesn't exist? and why isn't the website still working? i mean people should still be able to know what MJHD is and read at least the posts on the front page.

Come on let's keep it real even if Sony did own MJDH, do you think they would make it obvious? uh...no!

Lets just wait and see what happens in the next few days with the mjhd site.If it`s not back by the weekend then maybe it has gone for good.

If they are changing web hosts, it will appear to be gone. You won't see anything but an error page. If they have uninstalled the phpBB software and have yet to install something to replace it, that would also make the site appear to be gone.

That sums the current situation up perfectly, although I wouldn't be shocked in the least if it eventually turns out there really is something fishy going on after all. Just the nature of the hoax beast, I guess.

However, the ADMIN could have avoided all of the present speculation by warning members what was about to happen before it happened. It's the lack of communication and not knowing what the heck is going on that's worst. Amy has a Twitter account. She should use it, or at least inform some members, like the moderators, so they can spread the word.

I agree with the OP.

I too did not know how this webserver hosting was all about, and bought into thinking that thing about how Sony and MJHD was the same person.

Now I realize that of course there is no way whatsoever to find that out since it's both private registrations on a server in Arizona....

Of course Sony or MJ, if they were behind thisisalsoit.com would not call it MJHD. MJ has millions of fans on tons of forums, why would he be only with us, you know?! Unrealistic.

So this made me think more and now I believe that thisisalsoit.com are actually BANNED MEMBERS. Yes. They are upset they cant be in our debates anymore so they just thought theyd push their opinion on us by creating that domain and link us to those pages.

And yeah, it reminds me of many old threads on MJHD, the illuminati people who believe that theory, and how Michaels death also somehow is involved with those things. Like, controlled by the nwo and so on. Those are the links we got, and especially lately now that liberian girl link and virtual reality game link, I thought AHA - MJHD posters.
Because the fact that they only write MJHD at the registration, instead of any other MJ site on the www, shows they are attached to the forum.

Amy says its not her whos behind tiai, and of course - if she was she would hide it and not tegister it online for public that they are MJHD.

Anyway, I hope the forum at MJHD is up soon Nice to be here too though.

If SONY did own MJHD, of course they would be smart enough to realize that some people are internet savy enough to track an IP address, so if that IP address was tracked back to SONY's Servers, then it would have proven that MJHD was owned by SONY right off the bat....
If SONY, (or even a subsidary company of SONY or MJJ Productions) created the site on a web hosting community such as GO DADDY, then of course that looks less suspicious. And a less proffesional looking site makes sense too, if SONY (or whoever) wanted people who visited the site to indeed believe that MJHD was created by some "random" person who "Just wants to find out the truth".....

In my opinion, I don't think that EVERYTHING relates to the hoax, but, there are numerous things that do not add up, one can only explain so many things with the stock answer of "Technical glitches".....

Amen, I so agree with you and if it was started by Sony, one reason, I believe, is to watch what people are saying
about the things they have seen and or heard, I have noticed that some things are being cleaned up after someone finds
a clue or show some mistakes, I swear most days I feel like I am being PUNKED!

I do see your point (and see you're just speculating), and these are all things I also considered, but I myself just don't believe this to be the case. To me, there is no reason for Sony to own MJHD. I don't believe that Sony is in on the hoax, so that can't be a factor (at least in my view). And they don't need to generate interest in MJ that his actual "death" hasn't already generated. So that's can't be a factor either (in my view). So, for me, I just see no reason at all why Sony should, could, or would own MJHD.
