tHE pENGUIN move

no way in hell is this a Michael Jackson move,not in a thousand years,its too basic to even contemplate for MJ,but it does open a door that was otherwise closed with no reason.

Randy Phillips when he was addressing MJJC forums mentioned how delighted MJ was to sell out 50 shows and put his own twist on how MJ cried when he said how many shows do i have to do randy?and he said something like 50 minimum(85 maximum)(china next leg)
at this point we were all going along with everything he ways saying but 2 things have now happend when all of a sudden a video gets leaked of MJ rehearsing human nature.
although he doesnt put in no where near the effort of rehearsals as he does the shows,the footage is very different to the neverland human nature rehearsal for the dangerous tour in 93,this is a very odd movement but nowhere a dance move.anyway back to Randy phillips he said sometime in april/may that MJ was working on a new dance move never seen before...

2 explanations for this movement being called a move,
when it was leaked sony started removing it even though it was a 40 odd second clip and all of a sudden information was being given out to the press that this was the move Randy Phillips was talking about,even the name the penguin its as if a person with little knowledge came up with this name for a stupid looking move,who would waddle like a penguin when he can put mime artists to shame with his dance,if MJ did have a secret dance move this certainly isnt it,and adds a lot of BULL to beliving Randy phillips or AEG saying he was happy doing 50 shows because it was another lie not from MJs mouth.

2)it could be another attempt by MJ to kid the mediia into thinking hes gone nuts by doing a dance based on a penguin only for the press to fall for it yet again,opinions please

I just read about it on the Sun (!) and I don´t know what to think about it. Michael Jackson is Michael Jackson and he´s a innovator. BUT even he might probably draws a line at calling a dance move "penguin". We´ll see when the This Is It movie comes.

Back in July or August...a WHILE ago, I was in a forum (can't remember where now) and someone made a comment, "I was the Penguin in the movie.")

To me at the time is was so off the wall................

Michael was in the Human Nature rehersal, not rehearsing but trying to show to the orchestra and musicians the way they must sing, feeling the music! That wasn't a dance!

First of all, that was the first time I'd seen this so-called "Penguin Move", and I was imagining some form of waddling side to side, a la that bloke out of Mary Poppins (can't think of his name hehe)

What I don't get is why in that clip the worlds greatest dancer is dancing like my dad at a wedding after taking advantage of the free bar!

the first time i saw this 'penguin' my reaction was just rewind that, MJ has never done ANYTHING to warrent people laughing at him but that was the most hilarious thing ive seen in ages, and i would NEVER laugh at mj! this just confirms to me that somethings off we arnt bein told facts here!! i really dont want to sound disrespectful but i dont think its Michael dancing... Michael would do it better in my honest opinion...whoever it is- his voice is quite good but not the moves...

I dont agree with you here it was a rehearsal so the were just practicing and changeing this and stuff like that so the moves where a little bit sloppy but he it was not doing his concerts jet so(dont know how to write it otherwise hope you understand what im try to say )

.I had to watch this about half dozen times and i am thinking,he was telling the music when to stop,slow down,and then when he did that move,possibly to tell them to pick it back up music wise,could be why kenny was moving the mike around and looking at them, dont know just a thought? but,where did they come up with this being a new move?

Ok, I'm a little ashamed but I try to explain what I think about it.

Some days ago I wrote it in some way on twitter:
Look at the penguin while dancing/he shakes up and down his right arm/ looks like a funny magician/loosing his trick into sleeve.

We know as Michael loves tricks.

Now, stay with me please and look at this 5 frames I captured from the video:


Watch the RIGHT hand.


If you look closely on the video you can notice that he moves the right hand back and then shakes it a bit.


This frame is token after the "penguin" (when he shakes his hand vigorously back and forth).



Oh, and now? What is this? It was not there before. It looks like a lightning ring.




Hard to catch but he seems very amused and you can notice something hidding under his pinkie.

So this is what I think about the penguin move. A trick
A lovely trick lost into his right sleeve (that's why he try to shacks a bit on frame n.2 and then shakes VIGOROUSLY as on frame 3).

Sometimes if you simply watch you can see the truth before our eyes.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I have an overly romantic and innocent of Michael, but I really see him very amused by this little trick. Even if doesnt work
